The Utilities Department is responsible for managing and providing efficient and reliable utilities to the campus.  This includes the acquisition, generation, distribution and energy monitoring of utilities and infrastructure that provide the following services for our campus:  electricity, emergency generators, water, sewer, stormwater, exterior lighting, chilled water (cooling), compressed air, steam (heat & hot water), and our Blue Light Network (exterior security) that supports our campus.

Our Engineering Services provides technical and utilities connection services in support of renewal, renovation, and new building projects across campus.  They also manage the utility metering and sub-metering programs which support our energy programs and the Energy Tracking Portal accessible by our students, faculty, and staff.

Our recently renovated Utilities Operations Center (UOC) is a multi-purpose building in which our operations team provides steam generation and compressed air for our primary campus.  UOC staff also provides remote monitoring of campus utilities and building controls; and handles off-hours call service for our Customer Service Center.

Our Utilities Maintenance Team (UMT) is a dedicated team comprised of cross-trained, skilled technicians who perform daily operations and maintenance tasks to support: medium voltage electrical distribution, steam distribution and tunnels, chilled water generation/distribution, blue light & site lighting, off-hours maintenance response, sub-metering, stormwater/water & sewer infrastructure, locating services for the Dig Certificate program.
