Progress! We’re right on track to open fall semester 2013. The “2011 big dig” went quite well. In conjunction with the Carroll Weathers road relocation project we successfully rebuilt roads and reconnected all site utilities around the Farrell Hall project site. In August we literally dug in with as many as nine excavating machines. Placement of footings and basement wall wrapped up in late fall of 2011 and we reached our goal of setting structural steel up to the attic floor by Jan of 2012.
February, March and April of 2012 look to be very busy onsite with placement of concrete deck slabs, the beginning of the exterior wall studs and prep work for masonry. Large attic mounted HVAC equipment – in production offsite – will be tucked to campus and gently lofted by crane to the top deck before our roof in placement begins.
Thanks again to the entire campus community for your patience and understanding during the construction process.
