The Surplus Coordinator can advise you as to the best method of disposal of these items. In some cases, your broken item can be sent to Surplus for recycling.

How do I request a pick-up of surplus items?

To request s pick-up or delivery, you may submit a Service Request online or call Facilities and Campus Services Customer Service Center at 336-758-4255 to submit your request.

How far in advance do I need to schedule a pick-up?

Every effort is made to pick up your surplus items as quickly as possible; however, we recommend that requests be made as far in advance as possible – preferably one to two weeks prior.

What does it cost to have surplus property collected or delivered?

Surplus property collections will be performed at no charge to the department. If departments select items from Surplus, they are welcome to coordinate their own transportation of those items. Surplus provides delivery service for $40 per Service Request. The fee is charged to your departmental budget.

*Please note: Unusually large, heavy, or expensive deliveries and/or pick-ups may require the services of a professional moving company at additional cost.
