Kitchin Residence Hall and BSA Lounge Moisture Intrusion – Upper and Lower Level at Hearn Plaza Stairs

Construction fencing will be installed on Friday, May 20th at the upper level of Hearn Plaza at Kitchin Res Hall (by the staircase to Lot M) as well as on the lower level surrounding the stairs and the BSA Lounge patio.

Access to the stairs will be unavailable while excavation and water proofing of an exterior wall takes place. Also, on the upper level, expect periodic construction traffic from to and from Lot N – Deacon Shop will remain open for business, however, there may be short periods of pedestrian restriction for construction traffic to flow. Once the project is complete on the Hearn Plaza level, the contractor will reopen access to the stairs and Lot M on one side only – there will still be construction work remaining in the lounge and on the lounge roof. We expect this project to be completed (barring any unforeseen circumstances) by the end of July.
