Facilities, Real Estate and Planning

Commencement Class of 2025

Over approximately 3.5 days, Wake Forest’s Facilities team placed 13,000 chairs, setting the stage for Commencement as we prepared to celebrate the Class of 2025. Their tireless efforts and careful coordination ensured that each chair was positioned accurately and efficiently, reflecting the team’s commitment to excellence and attention to detail. This large-scale setup is a testament to the hard work, planning, and teamwork that the Facilities and Construction crews consistently bring to every project on campus.

Tower & Tunnel Tours

Wake Forest University hosted Tower and Tunnel Tours for graduating seniors, providing a behind-the-scenes look at campus infrastructure. The tours continue to be a well-attended tradition, with approximately half of the graduating class participating this year. The program was supported by a group of approximately 15 staff members from Utilities, Team 1, EHS, Advancement, and other areas across the University. Their coordination provided students with a unique and informative experience while highlighting the work that supports daily campus operations.

Move-In Day 2025

A successful move-in day was made possible by the dedicated work of our Facilities, Real Estate, and Planning team. We want to thank them for their coordination, from managing traffic and parking to ensuring building access. Efforts made the day a smooth and efficient process.

Rental Program Recap

FY25 represents a milestone year for the Wake Forest University Surplus and Events program. Currently in its start-up stage, the program was designed to streamline campus logistics by repurposing surplus inventory for departmental events, providing a sustainable, cost-effective alternative to outside rentals.
Proof of Concept: Launch Success
Because the program is in its infancy, the initial performance goal for FY25 was set conservatively at 550 units. This baseline was intended to test operational capacity and campus interest.
The results, however, were immediate:
Actual Utilization: 2,724 total units.
Performance: 395% of the original launch goal.
