Preventative Maintenance and Vehicle Repairs

Mark Shouse and Jeff Rose focus primarily on preventative maintenance and common vehicle repairs to ensure the University’s fleet remains safe and reliable. Routine service, inspections, and mechanical repairs represent the core of the department’s workload. As time allows, the team also undertakes more complex projects, including a rear main seal replacement on a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, which required removal of the transmission. This work supports the long-term reliability and operational readiness of campus vehicles.
World of Work

The World of Work event offered students a behind-the-scenes look at the essential services provided by the Fleet team. Jeff Rose demonstrated how to properly check tire tread depth and explained the importance of maintaining adequate tread for vehicle safety and performance. The demonstration highlighted how routine inspections and preventative maintenance contribute to reliable fleet operations. Students gained insight into the work required to support a safe and dependable campus transportation network.
