Campus Landscape Preparation for Commencement

In preparation for Commencement, the Landscaping and Athletic Field Maintenance teams undertook extensive seasonal enhancements across primary campus corridors and gathering spaces to ensure the grounds reflected the significance of the occasion. Efforts included detailed turf maintenance, ornamental bed preparation, seasonal plant installations, and focused attention to high-visibility areas surrounding Wait Chapel and key academic buildings. This work was part of a coordinated, interdepartmental effort across Facilities, Real Estate and Planning and the campus as a whole to deliver a polished environment welcoming graduates, families, and guests. World of Work

WFU Facilities, Real Estate and Planning, including its Landscaping team, participated in the 2025 World of Work event hosted by Forsyth County. Students learned about career opportunities in landscaping and observed demonstrations of the team’s electric landscaping equipment. The presentation provided insight into sustainable practices and the technology used to maintain campus grounds.

Oddfellows Cemetery

WFU Facilities, Real Estate and Planning Landscape team transformed Oddfellows Cemetery, making months of volunteer work possible in minutes! This historic African-American burial ground, founded in 1907, is now seeing a revival. Hear the stories of restoration and remembrance.
