511 Deacon (new office building at The Grounds)

On December 16, 2025, WFU Facilities, Real Estate, and Planning joined University leadership and development partners Carter and Front Street Capital to break ground on a new five-story office building at The Grounds. The approximately 127,000-square-foot facility is part of the 100-acre Deacon Boulevard development and is scheduled for completion in 2027. Once complete, the building will house approximately 400 staff members from departments including Human Resources, Information Systems, and University Advancement.

The new five-story office building is envisioned as a key component of the 100-acre mixed use development in the Deacon Boulevard area. With 130,000 square feet of Class A office space, the building seamlessly integrates into the fabric of its surroundings, while establishing a strong architectural dialogue with the adjacent Allegacy Stadium at Wake Forest University. A key aspect of this integration is its relationship to the Deacon Walk, a pedestrian-only street connecting the Grounds retail village to the stadium. This office building will be the new home for the University Advancement; University Marketing and Communications; Information Systems; Legal, Audit and Compliance; Human Resources; and Finance and Administration departments.
