World of Work

The World of Work event offered students a behind-the-scenes look at the technology and equipment used by the Custodial team to maintain campus facilities. Staff highlighted the Tennant i-mop® XL Plus scrubber, demonstrating how its compact design and dual counter-rotating brushes allow for efficient cleaning in high-traffic and confined spaces. Students learned how this equipment replaces heavier equipment, improves water management, and enhances both safety and ergonomics for operators. The demonstration provided insight into the tools and processes that support a clean, safe, and well-maintained campus environment.

Small Group Training Additions for Custodial Staff

In 2025 the Custodial Team undertook a new, small group, training program designed to provide focused, hands-on training, led by Team Leads and Supervisors that staff work with every day. Each training cycle focuses on a specific area within our residence halls (Restrooms, Stairwells, Kitchens, Entries/Lobbies), and the training rotates between buildings to give staff as much exposure to other spaces as possible. This training has proven valuable through the development of collective skill sets, improved flexibility of our team, and through the development of our emerging leaders.
