The staff of Facilities & Campus Services is busy adjusting plans, performing preventative maintenance, and making other improvements in preparation for the 2021 fall semester and reoccupying our campus buildings at higher use levels. Per CDC and ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers) guidance, buildings are again being scheduled to be purged with outside air and then have the filters remain as higher efficiency products where beneficial. Air handling systems will continue to operate with increased ventilation and air changes via longer run times and increased outside air. Space CO2 levels are monitored and controlled where we have the ability and will be periodically checked in other high density areas. As we progress through the summer, our system’s team is continuing to add technology to assist in disinfecting our more dense, higher risk areas as well as monitoring unoccupied buildings for temperature and humidity management.
