This year, the Surplus program continued to grow and demonstrate its vital role in the campus community:
Increased Resource Redistribution:
The program successfully redistributed a substantial volume of surplus assets, minimizing waste and maximizing the utilization of existing resources. This has led to cost savings across various departments.
Enhanced Sustainability:
Efforts in diverting surplus materials from landfills have significantly contributed to our sustainability goals. By promoting reuse and recycling, the surplus program has reduced WFU’s environmental footprint.
Financial Impact:
The program generated notable revenue through the sale of surplus items, which was reinvested into the University. Additionally, cost avoidance through internal redistribution has provided substantial financial benefits.
Community Contributions:
The program strengthened our partnerships with local non-profit organizations by donating surplus items, supporting their missions and contributing to community well-being.
