Winter Break Temperature Setback Program
Wake Forest University’s winter break and temperature setback program will begin the evening of Friday, Dec. 19, and end the morning of Monday, Jan. 5. The program will maintain building temperatures at no less than 55°F during the holiday period. Staff and faculty who intend to visit or work on campus during the holiday period are advised to wear appropriate clothing and consider bringing a light jacket or sweater to work.
Beginning at 2 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, the heating systems will gradually return the buildings to more comfortable conditions. Temperatures should reach normal operating settings by the time employees arrive at work. Facilities technicians will arrive early to ensure building heating systems have been reactivated as scheduled.
Energy reduction efforts through previous unoccupied setbacks have saved the University over in utility costs. For departments that need an exemption or have received exemptions in the past, contact Karl Erik at erikkj@wfu.edu and state your exemption needs as soon as possible.
Thank you for supporting this effort to save energy during the holiday period.
