The WFU compost program is a partnership with Gallins Family Farm, a local business that takes organic waste and turns it into a soil amendment. This process prevents food waste from ending up in the landfill, decreases methane production, and creates a useful and nutrient rich product.

Organic waste is collected in five different ways on campus:

  1. Office collection program
  2. Dining collection
  3. Paper towel collection in bathrooms
  4. Residence hall collection
  5. Event collection provided by the Compost Crew

Contact Sophie Wimberley (wimbersg@wfu.edu) if you’re interested in participating in the office collection program.
